WA international are the designers behind the magnificent interior of the Morimoto restaurant in Marriott’s Renaissance Downtown Hotel in Business Bay. Each angle, view and space is so poetically balanced, that it would be hard to find fault.
Khansaheb Interiors did a stellar job on the fitout, and Emirates Innovation Engineering Consultants handled the project management.
The gold standard for contemporary Japanese cuisine, Morimoto serves as a showcase for the world-renowned chef’s native cuisine, pulling from both ancient Japanese tradition and contemporary culinary influences.
The décor, created around a modern-yet-organic aesthetic, is cutting edge yet comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Traditional Japanese influences are cleverly translated into a modern language, with minimalism and order as the base palette.
Wooden screens and bamboo matched with slate, beige and brown tones create a monochromatic background, where stunning design pieces are displayed – inverted white bloom hanging lamps, pendant lights in the shape of wood shavings, and tables that embrace both an organic form and slick wired design.
